20,000 Voices has encouraged, developed and supported singing in the north east since 1993. We have worked with over 140,000 voices during that time; we provide exciting, stimulating and challenging vocal activities; we have set up 19 choirs since 1995, which are still thriving.
However, if our charity is to continue this work we urgently need your help.
20,000 Voices Appeal
We have secured funding for some really exciting projects in the coming year, including a grant from Youth Music for work with families and young children in West Northumberland and a grant from Northern Angels Fund for work in Berwick. Funders clearly recognise the value of what we do. However, their grants cannot support our overheads fully, and despite making every effort to maximise income and minimise costs, we now face the strong possibility that 20,000 Voices will have to close, unless funding is raised through this urgent appeal.
Our staff and board believe that we offer a good service to all our participants – and we have had some great feedback about the positive effects of our work. As well as planning and delivering projects our work includes developing partnerships, advising and supporting singers and choirs, fundraising, marketing and publicity. We urgently need to raise funds to run our charity; this includes staff time, office costs, insurance, professional memberships and publicity.
Your individual donation will make a difference:
£115 will run the organisation for a day
£150 will buy a venue for a day’s singing
£400 will support the development of a new singing group
What you can do
We invite you to contribute to the survival of a unique and quietly effective charity whose work is valued by all who take part. We need to raise £20,000 to keep 20,000 Voices safe and ensure its ongoing development. We urge you to make a donation. Just think, if 500 people donated £40 we would raise the full £20,000! 175 gifts of £115 would exceed the target and cover nearly half of our running costs for a year! If you are able to gift aid your donation we would receive an additional 25p for every pound you donate. We know that everyone is affected by the current economic climate, so we will welcome any donation you can afford. All donations will be used effectively to support our work.
