Silver Singers in Ashington

At the end of January, 45 people packed into Age Concern's new activity hall to listen to Going Platinum, a Silver choir from The Sage Gateshead.  A wonderful mix of songs, and director Gilly Love's jokes and repartee, made it enjoyable for everyone.  The audience were soon joining in and singing along in 3 part harmony.

Following the concert, people were encouraged to attend a 6 week course, led by Jane Harland.  The course would help them to get started with singing, and lead to the formation of a regular Silver choir in Ashington.

On 2 February 16 people attended the first session of the course.  All sorts of singers were there - from absolute beginners to people who had sung in choirs nearly all their life.  The group were soon making a really good sound, and looking forward to the next session.  Its not too late to join.....

For more information about this group, and how to join please see our projects page, or phone 01670 852445.
