Medieval Mixture
These medieval workshops are suitable for anyone with an interest in singing Medieval and Renaissance music, or who would like to find our more about early musical styles and repertoire. Margaret Watchorn has a special interest in early music, and her knowledge and enthusiasm ensure that these workshops are entertaining and accessible.
All singers are welcome. Singers do not have to be able to read music, but printed music will be used for some of the songs, and some sightreading ability will help if you enjoy singing harmonies. However melodies are usually taught by ear before branching into harmony, so there is plenty of scope for everyone to join in.
The workshops will build up repertoire, but new material will be introduced at each session, so you may come to one or all of the workshops.
The choir performed at Brinkburn Priory on Saturday 1 August, at 2pm. The choir will be recording some songs for a local film soundtrack during the autumn term.![]()
